Using Google Adsense in Your Newsletter Archives
Should Ezines, newsletters that you issue weekly or otherwise, always be archived. Why not? This gives you more content pages on your web site. Search engines love you more if you have more pages of good content, so why waste your newsletters. Archive them, and get the maximum benefit of providing more content. But don’t archive sales messages, as it doesn’t count as content.
Pages on your web site are automatically in html format, but many ezine editors archive in plain text appearance. The format is html, but looks like plain text. This is usually to make it easier for other ezine marketers to pick up these articles in their text-based newsletters, and not to have to delete the html coding.
Personally, I find it much more appealing to read archived articles that have a bit of life to them, with basic html. For exampe, simple bolding of headings and sub headings. And, when your article is copied into a text editor, the bolding doesn’t show up anyway. So why not use a touch of class! and use html perks.
The most important thing I find very strange about most archived newsletters is that they do not have Google Adsense ads on the web pages. Well why not? Is it because you just didn’t think of doing it, or assumed it’s unnecessary.
Or are you assuming no one reads Google Adsense ads from your archives? If you ever go to Article directories to read or copy their articles, you will see that every page has Google Adsense ads. They make their living this way.
Your archived newsletters, those containing good content, are in that same class. My back-issues are read a lot, my archives are very popular. So I do take advantage of this fact and have added Adsense ads to them. It only takes a few minutes to do this after the mailing is done. Believe me, it’s worth it for the extra revenue potential.

Double Your Crops
Is there too much digging and not enough harvesting going on in your garden? Try these ideas to make your garden work harder for you without breaking a sweat!
Rotation:
When one crop comes out of the ground, quickly turn the earth and plant something else straight away. This could be late summer lettuce or over-wintering salad varieties. Some beans can be successfully planted in the autumn, in particular broad beans, along with late cropping cauliflowers and other brassicas.
Make small cloches to protect the young plants from autumn weather. Cut a clear plastic bottle in half to produce two min-cloches!
What you plant as a second crop will depend heavily on your region, climate and availability of seed. However, when this crop comes out in the Spring, there will be far less weeds than if you had left the patch fallow all winter.
Don’t do this every year as the earth will need feeding and resting, but even a small garden can be divided into rotatable patches, and if you get double your crops from one space, you won’t need the extra space every year. Pile on as much green manure as you can and keep your fallow patch weed free.
Companions:
Plant your crops close together so those pesky weeds don’t get a chance to grow. Companion planting enables you, not only to save space in the garden and control the weeds, it will also help with pest control. A line of onions next to a line of carrots confuses the onion fly and the carrot fly!
Plant your good companion plants close together but avoid putting large crops of the same species too close. Plant a tomato plant here and there round the garden, then if one plant gets a disease, it doesn’t easily spread to the other plants. The same with cabbages. The cabbage white butterfly, dreaded enemy of brassica growers everywhere, won’t be so attracted to your garden if the cabbages aren’t neatly planted in rows.
Raised Beds:
Not only good for controlling the weeds and saving space for those extra crops, but also great for controlling aching backs! The raised bed system in principal means you don’t walk on your beds, and therefore they should be no wider than a couple of metres, preferably less. You need to be able to reach everywhere on the bed without stepping onto the soil at all.
Once dug, fill with your plants and hoe regularly. When your first crop is harvested fork over the soil lightly. It shouldn’t need any heavy digging again for some years.
Permanent Patches:
Keep permanent patches in your garden. A small herb patch or corner in your vegetable garden will attract bees and also give you and your family lots of new tastes, natural medicines and even cosmetic preparations.
Herbs will establish themselves fairly quickly and will thrive with regular picking. You honestly won’t know what to do with all those wonderful fresh herbs, that would otherwise cost you a fortune in the supermarket.
Another great permanent patch to create is asparagus. Most new gardeners are put off growing this wonderful vegetable because of all sorts of crazy reasons. I’ve even heard it said that it’s a “luxury crop” – whatever that may mean! Asparagus is extremely good for you, is ready to pick during the ‘hungry gap’ in the vegetable garden, and best of all, with very little attention, it will produce more and more every year. Create a permanent asparagus bed and indulge in the luxury!

How to Have MORE Fun With YOUR Tax Refund in 2005
I counsel a LOT of people about money. I see the same mistakes being made over and over again.
If you’ve made ‘em, don’t worry. I’m here to help you do it right THIS year! The fact is, moneymakers need a money coach, just like gymnasts need a gymnastics coach.
As your MoneySmart(tm) coach, here are the mistakes in thinking and behavior I want you to avoid:
* Don’t think of your refund as free money – or lottery winnings. It’s not! That refund is your hard-earned dollars that you loaned Uncle Sam interest free – all last year.
* Don’t spend the refund – or OVERSPEND it – when you haven’t gotten the cash in your hands yet.
* Don’t spend the whole refund to pay down debt.
OK. So now you’re MoneySmart(tm) about what NOT to do with that refund in 2005.
Next, here are my EASY MoneySmart(tm) moves that YOU can make to best handle your in’come tax refund this year.
First, divide your refund into thirds – 3 equal amounts.
Why 3 equal amounts? Because we want to use that refund –
however small or large – to handle the past, the present
and the future.
Use one third to handle the PAST by paying down debts.
Start with your most pressing debt…either the one with
the highest interest rate, or the one with the biggest
consequence for not paying it down.
Use one third for something you need or want in the PRESENT.
If you can, use that money to have some FUN. Do something
that is NOURISHING to you – something that makes you feel
GOOD. How about a mini-vacation, or an evening of fine
dining and great entertainment, or a day at the spa?
***Of course, if the brakes on the car are shot, or you have
some other pressing need, you’ll need to do that FIRST.***
Finally, use one third to handle some aspect of your FUTURE.
Here are several MoneySmart(tm) suggestions for you to think about.
*Put money in your Anti-Emergency© Fund.
(see http://www.phelps-creek.com/archives/Anti-Emergency.htm
for details)
*Put money in your Rainy Day Fund (see http://www.phelps-creek.com/archives/safetynet.htm for details) or save for your retirement through your 401(k), 403(b), IRA (traditional or Roth).
*Put money into college education funds (Coverdell IRAs or
529 plans) for your kids or grandkids.
Why is this “thirds” approach such a great idea? Because
you’ll be taking care of a variety of wants and needs –
AND taking several easy MoneySmart(tm) steps forward towards
your BIG goal of financial freedom!
THAT is how you can have MORE fun with YOUR tax refund in 2005.
As always, if you have any questions, please go to my web page www.cindymorus.com for contact information. I’m here to be YOUR coach, and make sure YOU succeed.
Cindy
PS…
Now is also a GREAT time to “check out your paycheck”:
* Re-evaluate how much money you are contributing to your
401(k) or 403(b).
* If you got a whopping refund, remember you were just
sticking YOUR money in Uncle Sam’s pocket. No point in
giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan! Adjust your
deductions so that you have just enough taxes withheld
from your paycheck.
PPS…
If you’re paying outrageous credit card charges (and so many people are) you’ll definitely want a free copy of “A Credit Expert’s Secrets: You Can LOWER Your Credit Card Interest Rates”. With my MoneySmart(tm) coaching, you be able to save hundreds (or maybe thousands) in credit card interest payments this year. New to Internet Marketing? Decide and Focus, or Quit!
When you first get involved with Internet Marketing you’ll discover there are unlimited opportunities for income. For example, there is the GoogleCash opportunity where you simply direct the traffic clicking on your ads to a merchant’s website and collect an affiliate commission. Or, you might choose to build a content-rich theme site over a period of many weeks, and use it to earn Adsense income and to earn affiliate income. Or build dozens of ‘quick and dirty” Adsense sites in hours. Or you can build mini-sites for affiliate marketing. Or you can blog for money. You could profit from eBay in a variety of ways. You could write an information product, or choose to sell physical products. And this is only a partial list! Internet Marketing has something to suit (almost) everyone.
But the reality is that each opportunity probably calls for you to learn more than just one skill, and buy and learn more than just one software tool. For example if you choose to get involved with the Adsense opportunity you can end up using a keyword research tool to identify keywords to focus on, an HTML editing tool to build your site, graphics software to build the graphic header, the blog and ping technique with a junk blog to get indexed in a hurry, RSS to build-up the content on your site, perhaps a separate good quality blog to improve your rankings in the search engines, perhaps another software tool to build a site map, and so on. The different Internet Marketing opportunities have their own Tools of the Trade!
For each of these tools you need to research which one to use; buy it; learn how to use it; then how to put it into practice. Some individual tools, for example some of the sophisticated software to make automatic posts to blogs have quite a steep learning curve, and it can genuinely take many hours simply to become familiar with the software, and many more to understand how to apply it correctly.
But if you’re human, and interested in making money (and why else would you be here?), it is all too easy to be tempted to explore other opportunities while you are still in the middle of making a previous opportunity work. In fact, you probably asked for it! Your research probably put you on the mailing lists of many Internet Marketing experts who send you news of the latest and greatest every day … and these folk are masters at turning-on your greed glands. From personal experience (me, my friends and my family), I suspect the majority of people who decide to dive into Internet Marketing but never succeed in making a serious penny simply get bogged down with partially implemented opportunities.
The solution is simple but unfortunately contrary to human nature (at least for many of us). It requires four steps:
1. Give yourself the luxury of exploring the opportunities … but with a specific time limit, during which you commit up-front to starting nothing and to buying nothing until that time limit is up. This research is NOT trivial. You are not just looking at the income potential of the different Internet Marketing opportunities … you need to look at the commitments in terms of initial time and ongoing time; whether income is fast or slowly builds up; whether there is out-of-pocket risk or just time-wasted risk; are you prepared to wander to the “dark side” a little (black hat SEO) or is your nature to stick to the straight and narrow; do you want to be dealing with individuals, or just nameless, faceless masses? Do you have a technical nature? Do you have access to someone who does if you need help?
2. Make the decision. Make it logically …. then test to see how your gut feels about it. When it feels right, commit. I mean, FULLY commit.
3. Pursue the chosen opportunity to completion, where “completion” means you fail beyond recovery, or you succeed in making a level of income that you consider to be a success for the technique. Learn what you need to; buy what you need to; then DO IT. And be prepared – this often means facing fears; fear of minor failure (starting a technical area where you are a novice), fear of rejection (asking others for links, knowing 90% will tell you “no” in the early days), and the big one … fear of project failure. Your mind can play odd games with you … if you move to another opportunity before you give this one your all, you’ve not really failed, have you? Whereas if you DO give it your all and it doesn’t work out … then you’d have to face your failure.
4. And while you are pursuing the opportunity, discipline yourself not to pursue or even explore different Internet marketing opportunities. Unless you know you have superb discipline, this means you do not read e-mails, newsletters, or sales pages from gurus promoting products that do not relate directly to your opportunity; and do not even read e-mails, newsletters, or sales pages promoting improved versions of products that are supposed to be improvements on those products you are already using in pursuit of your opportunity. Make what you have work.
Even if, on completing one opportunity, you choose to go onto a second or even a third entirely different one, doing so in this focused manner means you will probably complete three entire opportunities to a satisfying level of success before you would have achieved even one to a partial level of success if you’d been attempting all three simultaneously. I’m serious; multi-tasking often means a factor of three or four times the elapsed duration to completion of any project. Internet Marketing is no exception.
Just as important, you will actually have mastered the individual skills involved in the opportunities you pursued to completion; this contrasts nicely with having only a fingertips grasp of a variety of different tools and techniques, as is the inevitable outcome if you fail to focus.
In Internet Marketing, this mastery has rewards; you can repeat your success more quickly. You can outsource tasks, from a position of complete proficiency (always a good position from which to outsource). And you can usually transfer some or all of the skills to another Internet Marketing opportunity in such a way as to make success in the new arena more certain, and more speedy. Not a bad combination!
Steve Jackson is a full-time consultant (in a field largely unrelated to Internet Marketing) who decided to explore Online opportunities as a way to help friends and family develop the increased freedom of choice that can emerge from a serious side-stream income. His website at http://www.adummygetsitright.com is a massive source of free information on Internet Marketing opportunities.

Chase Away the Boredom Blues
Are you looking for fun activity ideas to do with your kids? Never again hear the whinny words, “I’m bored” again. There are tons of fun things you can do to keep your kids busy while spending some quality time with them.
Trampolines are always fun for kids of all ages. You can jump with the kids and have a swell time while burning off unwanted calories. Have a jumping contest to see who can bounce the highest. Kick all those cherished games like Ring-Around-the-Roses up a notch by playing them on the trampoline.
Water is something else that most children enjoy. From wading in puddles, to squirting water toys, kids love them. Consider investing in an above-ground pool that is big enough for both you and your kids. You’ll have a splashing good time. Don’t forget the rubber ducks and sail boats. A trip to the lake or ocean is always a winning idea as well.
For older children summer camp is another activity to keep those boredom blues away. There are a variety of camps available to suit your child’s interest and your price range. If you are nervous about leaving your child overnight, many day camps are also available to keep your kids busy during their school holiday. Many Universities offer day camps to enrich your child’s academic abilities. Fun activities such as horseback riding, cheerleading, soccer, and other sports are abundantly available in most areas.
Have your own family outdoor challenge. Set up sack races, egg races, and water activities, and obstacle courses. Go for a nature walk and see who can discover the most interesting thing. Take along a wagon for the younger children, or take along bicycles and go for a ride.
Kids also love cooking. It might be messier for you to clean up, but it’ll certainly be more enjoyable to prepare. Let the kids help make their own snacks or meals. For breakfast use some food coloring and make your own green eggs and ham. Afterwards, curl up together and read the Dr. Seuss version. For lunch use cookie cutters to make sandwiches in creative shapes or fill celery stick with cheese or peanut butter. Pack it all up and go on a picnic, even if it’s just outside your own back door. Make cookies or brownies and have a surprise waiting for Dad when he gets home from work. Consider wrapping up the treats and taking them to Grandma or an elderly neighbor and brighten up their day.
Even on those rainy days you can chase away those boredom blues. Dress up and have a tea party or an indoor picnic. Throw a blanket over the dining room table and pretend you are camping. Take along disposable cameras for the kids to take photos on all your excursions and let them make their own scrapbooks on those days when it is too messy to go outside. Clip the heads off of a few photos and use them to make paper dolls of your family. Let the kids design and color in the clothes.
Go fly a kite or teach your child how to jump double-dutch. Play jacks or marbles with your children. If you enjoyed it when you were younger, then they will probably enjoy it too. Most of all be open-minded and flexible. Let your child come up with his/her own ideas of what they would like to do. Your children will cherish the time that you spend with them for a lifetime.

You Really Need Two If Not Three Separate Piles Of Investment Money
Fading the gap. Earnings runs. Moving average cross over’s. Support and resistance. I could go on an on about all the “tools” a good “trader” uses to make a trade. In one form or another we have employed each and every one of them, and for the most part, if done right, they work. But, there is one issue that will always make you shake your head in wonder. What’s that? “Why didn’t I hold?”
One time we watched EBAY get to 104 dollars a share. Well, we went long EBAY on 8/11/04 at 76.30. We held it for a pretty long time, and sold a portion on 9/2/04, at 89.53. We had picked up $13+ a share, and yes indeed we were proud of ourselves. Yet, it went over 104. Suddenly selling it at 89.53, looked pretty silly didn’t it? Indeed.
One could easily ask “why on earth did you sell it?” One could easily answer, “did you “know” it was going to go to 100?” Do you see the point? There are indeed investments that you are going to make from time to time, when you will take your profit, feel like a king, and then feel like a fool because the stock keeps going higher. But, we have a short memory in this country. This is the same type of thinking that saw tens of thousands of investors get crushed in 200 – 2003. They all “knew” their stocks were going higher. They held onto them. They are still licking their wounds.
There is NO answer to this problem folks. Cocky talking head fund managers wrote all sorts of catchy books about “let your runners run, and cut your losers”. Peter Lynch had the good fortune of buying stocks during the biggest bull market in the history of the US, so he gets to act pompous and wave his hand in the air and say “I just buy good companies and let them ride”. Well, lots of “good companies” he bought in 99/2000 spent the next three years underwater.
How do you know when a runner is running? How often do you buy something, it gains 3, 4, 5, even 10 dollars a share, only to roll over and give it all back? Should one hold onto it as it loses another 7% from your entry as the “gurus” tell you that the proper play is to cut losses at 7%, and let winners win?
My theory is that you really need two if not three separate piles of investment money. First off if you are lucky enough to have a company sponsored 401K, well then, good for you! But if you don’t you should have an IRA set up. Then, for your personal investing you really need to approach this with two mindsets. One is the day to day, week to week trades we make, but secondly, what about some “buy and hold” type stuff?
I’m not a buy and hold sort of guy naturally, but the fact is we do put out story stocks that go on to make tremendous gains. Quite often we’ve suggested “Buying a few shares and putting them away for a year to see what happens”. Many of those very suggestions, have gone on to be three or four “baggers”. (tripled or quadrupled in price)
For short term swing trades, the thing that keeps us in the game is taking profits, setting some form of stops and moving in and out when the reasons line up. But that said, taking a longer view approach with a small pile of cash, on specific story stocks, can really reward you. No one knows the future, and hindsight is always 20/20. It’s easy to ask “why didn’t I hold that?” But you really didn’t “know” it was going to continue going higher. For that type of trade, find a story that’s compelling and take a SMALL position and put it away. If we’ve done our homework, we should see good results.

Fear of Change?- How to Easily Overome It and Increase Your
Confidence
When facing a change, most people invariably feel insecure, lost and overwhelmed.
Still, do you agree with me that life without any form of changes would not only be monotonous but also inconceivable?
Afterall, one aspect of why we all love living, is the excitement and anticipation of the unexpected in our lives!
Here is a thought for you. What do you say to yourself after having had a really bad day?
If you’re like the majority of people, you’ll probably be happy it is over when you go to bed. Maybe saying something like this to yourself: “Phew I’m darn glad, this day is over… wonder what tomorrow will bring!” In expectation of a change.
Do you see what I mean? Every single day brings certain form of changes into our lives. In fact these small changes, are crucial. For they offer new opportunity and create room for adjustments.
So why are many people afraid of facing changes, if these are there to help us?
In psychology, there are a number of reasons that can render a person fearful of a change. But I am not about to launch into a psycho-debate on the dysfunctionality of the mind here.
What I want to do, is to show you how you can quickly and easily banish those fears and enjoy a sense of freedom and inner security.
Fact 1. People who are passionate about growing are never afraid of a change. To them change is simply another way of taking charge and living fully.
Irrelevant of their positions in life, they know that it is of utmost importance to keep an open mind and be alert in spirit. For nothing in life ever stays the same.
Fact 2. You can’t wish a change away. Your life would become more engaging and bountiful, when you can let go of your fear.
So without any further ado.
Build a strong relationship with your fear.
When a new change comes your way, tell yourself, what it is that you’re afraid of and look at the fear. You may even want to write it down. There’s something magical about writing things down.
Feel like you’re confiding in someone else, even if it’s only on paper. Once you face your fear, you’ll find that it begins to lose its power over you. Instead of you becoming enslaved, you now have the upper hand.
Play the devil’s advocate.
One reason for our fear of change is often because we feel inadequate. We feel that we are incapable of handling a new situation.
Should this be the case with you, simply see yourself in the worst case scenario.
Make yourself comfortable and allow your mind to re-live the various stages of what you fear at least twice. The third time around let the fear fade away like a smoke.
See yourself emerging from it wholesome, peaceful and invincible. Feel the joy of being in charge and the triumph of knowing the fear is only a shadow.
Reclaim your inborn power.
I know how frustrating it can be, if you’re trying to move forward and find yourself being held back by fear.
Once you’ve re-emerged feeling invincible, you want to use that momentum to turn things around.
To do this, ask yourself this question: “what simple action can I take here and now to start moving toward my new direction?”.
Wait for the answer to surface. Then do it without stalling. Should you get multiple ideas, just apply the one you feel comes easiest to you first. Moving later on to other ideas after you’ve completed the previous ones.
Test the waters for lurking “gremlins”.
To be certain that you’re now embarking on a steady path to overcoming your fear of change, do the following.
Subject yourself knowingly to your uncomfortable feelings around changes from time to time. This is to help you recognize the lurking fear i.e.the “gremlins”
Observe how you react: Do you immediately shut down or do you find yourself trying to be creative with the feelings?
The more constructive you can deal with your uneasy feelings about change, the quicker you’ll be able to move past your fear of change.
I firmly believe in asking for inner guidance. So if you find yourself still struggling with fear, don’t feel dejected, pray for help. It works wonder! Laugh a lot, be joyful and give yourself to others. A heart full of joy and trust has no room for fear.
Take the time to integrate these steps into your life. Before long, you’ll find yourself getting more and more excited about new possibilities. The more you’re able to connect with and activate your innate power, the less susceptible you’ll be to fear of change.
