Amex Expansion to Create More than 1000 Jobs in Brighton
American Express is the largest private employer in the city of Brighton, a city that boasts of seventy four other jobs in addition to Amex. Recently, the city Council of Brighton and Hove approved a proposal for the construction of a new building by Amex.
The new building is proposed to be constructed at the rear end of the Amex House, which is owned by American Express and is supposed to span over 35,000 Sq m. The new building has about 9 storeys and will have all the state of art technology, open desk space with a flexible office environment.
According to Amex representatives, the construction for the new building will begin in March 2010. The company will strive to stick to its mandate for improving quality of office space globally by proving excellent features in the new building, which incidentally is a part of its global workspace improvement program. The new construction and expansion is slated to provide more than 1000 construction jobs to the area of Brighton. However, leading business giants of the area are quick to add that if the city council wants to achieve its target in terms of jobs available to the people of Brighton by 2016, then it has to do more than this in terms of development.
