Infrequently do we witness youths & young adults at their early twenties with chunks of hair missing from their scalps. Plenty hair loss in men takes place in their 30’s and 40’s, despite the fact it isn’t irregular from men in their late twenties to lose hair as well. The concept of aging is dreaded among today’s society. Where aging was once upon a time a symbol of enlightenment and judiciousness, it is currently mostly looked upon as if the older you get, the more uninteresting one turn out. This is absolutely not TRUE in most cases. Nonetheless, since this is how the media and modern society illustrate middle aged men & women, & losing hair is a symbol of getting elder, it is no ponder that hair loss might well affect one’s confidence.

Television shows regularly portray middle aged men with hair loss as the individuals most unlikely to succeed with obtaining dates, or being happy in general. The character George Costanza of NBC’s hit TV series, Seinfeld, is the perfect instance of this. Costanza was in his late thirties and suffered classic male pattern hair loss. He quite often referred to his hair loss as one of his largest excuses for never succeeding at anything in life. Men & women alike both enjoy a tendency to feel self conscious, particularly when it comes to the opposite sex. In our culture, a thick, luscious, head of hair is acknowledged to be appealing, & make one appear more youthful & healthy.

Current technology is most useful in restoring hair loss. Advanced hair loss treatments are attainable to restore one’s hair & make it look entirely normal as if you had not lost any hair to begin with. It isn’t necessary in this era and age to have to deal with hair restoration. A person’s quality of life doesn’t have to be affected with low confidence when there are so many advanced hair restoration treatments to choose from. Whether a prescriptive drug, contemporary therapeutics, follicle transplants, or laser therapy, there are countless options that will probably fit many budgets.

Hair loss treatments are now greatly popular and used by both male and women. Folks have lost their hair due to cancer and have found it is never to grow back can occasionally benefit from advanced scalp therapy. Even if people are not effectively losing hair, but suffer from a receding hair line or their hair is thinning, they might benefit from an array of hair loss therapeutics. The days of counting on fake looking wigs & spray on hair are over. With so countless choices of different hair loss remedy, you no longer have to live life feeling any less confident than they did in your early 20’s.

There is truly magic inside of each individual. No, not the magic made of illusion. You have a creative genius, a gift of God, which was yours at birth. You have the potential to bring this gift to the world in a very special way.

This divine gift often becomes apparent in childhood. It may remain undiscovered until the adult years. It may call until you have no choice but to listen and follow its urgings. Whether or not you listen, it calls.

If you are still searching for that special gift, there is good news. You can find it if you seek diligently. The secret is to look and listen with your heart, not your eyes and ears.

Look past outer appearances and see possibilities that only your heart can see. Your eyes see with brain-power. Your heart sees with faith-power. Your inner genius sees reality; the image it registers is joy. It sees obstacles as stepping stones to a future filled with tremendous excitement.

Your creative genius speaks through feelings, urges, and coincidences that bring unexpected blessings. When engaged in activities of its liking, you feel that you are living purposely. Your actions are aligned with your deepest values. The calling of your creative genius feels like an “action magnet” too strong to ignore.

What activity makes you feel ecstatically joyful and fills you with a sense of purpose and contentment? Remember when it first tugged at your heart? Remember how you knew something special had just happened?

Your creative genius is always signaling and calling to you. Stop today and listen for its quiet voice. Look for the beauty of its vision with a new spiritual perspective. Its image of inspiration and fulfillment is always moving into vision!

(5 minutes a day)
There is no limit to what you can visualize. The most effective visualization
usually happens when emotion is connected with a strong image as, for example,
when you really want something specific that you think will make you happy. But,
visualization can be used to change core beliefs, to combat what you may
consider a negative belief, without trying to oppose that belief. Say you would
like to have greater abundance, but you believe there’s something inherently
wrong with money. You want to make a change. To make that change, you can
visualize all the positive effects affluence can have in you life. You can
attach positive visuals, emotions, even sounds to the idea of money and begin to
make new associations. This will begin the process of drawing affluence to you
because your beliefs have been repelling it.

To do the visualization exercise, you must agree to suspend your disbelief for
only five minutes a day. Agree to give yourself completely to this fantasy for
that time without distractions, objections, fears, or doubts. You had no problem
pretending you were Batman in third grade. The same sort of abandon is needed
here. Bask in the fantasy for this short period of time and, when it’s through,
you can indulge in all of your doubts again though over time you will learn not
to do so.

Visualization Exercise
The only time you can ever accomplish anything is in the present. The present is
where everything happens, and there’s tremendous power here. Look around the
room. Take notice of where you are and how you feel in the moment.

Now, close your eyes and imagine that the thing you want is already in
existence. Feel what it feels like to have accomplished what you want. Color the
experience with as much feeling and emotion as you can muster up. Experience as
if it had already happened, as if it was in the present. See it in your mind
with as much detail as possible. If you’re not good with visuals, then do the
same thing through verbal thoughts, talking to yourself about what you want,
repeating the idea in your mind, feeling and experiencing the sensation of the
idea. Stay in the present while you’re doing this. It’s happening NOW. What you
think of as your normal everyday life no longer exists. This new idea is what
you’re experiencing.

When you’re done, drop the idea completely. Don’t worry about accomplishing it,
but do look for new ideas, impulses, gut feelings, and new energy that will
begin to guide you to what you want.

Notice when you have thoughts during the day that contradict what you want, and
realize they’re just thoughts, non-active ones, because you’re now building new
beliefs. In other words, learn to write-off thoughts you don’t want without
combating them. You notice them and let them go.

It may be some time before your new beliefs or ideas “take.” Even if you get
quick results, keep doing the exercise. You want to make sure your new belief is
more powerful than competing ones. It’s important to do the exercise only once a
day for the proscribed amount of time. More is not better because to do more is
to focus on the new belief out of fear instead of trust, thereby defeating your
work. Mindlessly doing the exercise and letting it go is always most effective.
Give yourself a month before you check your progress, and continue to do the
exercise as long as necessary.

If this exercise isn’t your cup of tea, then look for upcoming articles on
self-hypnosis, affirmations, diagramming, treasure-mapping, and much more. Or,
think creatively of your own ways to visualize or affirm new realities for
yourself.

Watching the news can be hazardous to your health.

It’s a fact, especially when you’re watching events related
to terrorism, kidnapping, murder, accidents, or calamities.
These incidents make you worry and will leave you feeling weak
and insecure. Imagine the uncomfortable feeling of becoming a
victim someday. This will have a negative effect on your
outlook in life.

Your surroundings have a big impact on you. How can you think
and grow rich if you’re bombarded with messages that relates
“how difficult life has become” or “how poor most of us has
turned out to be?”

You can’t change your environment, but you certainly can
control your mind. This is where visualization comes into
play. Use your imagination, just as you would when you’re
still a little child. Imagine your home as a palace, your
simple meal as fine dining gourmet, and your nearby park as
your favorite vacation spot. Just imagine. Unconsciously,
your thoughts will transform the images into their physical
components.

If the media can indirectly influence you just by reporting
what’s happening around, imagine what impact everyday people
have on you. These are the people that you see and meet
everyday. These are also the same people who are expressing
their own views of what is right and what is wrong.

When we grow up in a negative environment, we tend to acquire
the traits and characteristics of people around us.

Many gangsters have been brought up by folks who have either
misguided them or have taught them the wrong things in life.
Through the years, they have instilled within themselves the
vices of people around them.

Here’s another case.

Pick a nice person, throw him in a group of bad-mouthed
individuals who incorporates swear words in their everyday
language. Sooner or later, you’ll notice that nice person
speaking in the same manner as the group.

This just goes to say that anyone who joins in the company
of a like-minded group will have a big chance of being
influenced by the personality of that group. So what
can you do if you’re surrounded by people who deviates
from your way of thinking?

You can’t just avoid them. They’ll think of you as a snob.
Don’t change the way you treat them, but simply learn how
to shield out pessimistic comments or suggestions.

Sometimes, they will dictate you to do what you are against
to do. Be firm with what you believe in. Do not let them
affect your decisions. You know that you can do what they
thought would be impossible. If you have to suffer the
ridicule, so be it. You will have the last laugh anyway.

Moreover, you should be with people who have the same
principles and ideologies as you do. You will be more
encouraged to continue your dreams if you have a support
group or mentor who will prod you to pursue your goals
despite the setbacks.

When I was starting my internet endeavors, no one (and
I mean not even one) of my relatives and friends believed
me. But I did not let their discouragement stop me from
becoming successful.

I remained firm in my quest to make a living online. I
made friends with respected internet marketers who shared
the same vision as mine. They have also experienced the
same treatment from non-believers; but they have proven
that what the mind can conceive, it can achieve. Through
their help, I was able to put aside my doubts and achieve
my goals.

You have the power to make your dreams a reality. Now
show the world what stuff you are made of.

Why Coaching? It’s a good question, and the answer is found in the heart of human nature. We have heard it many times from couples to world councils – communication is the key. Noted author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia declared, “Communication, the art of talking to each other, saying what we mean, saying it clearly, listening to what the other says and making sure that we’re hearing accurately, is by all indication the skill most essential for creating and maintaining (key) relationships.” Famed psychologist Carl Rogers added that “the basic and most desperate need of our time (is) for more basic knowledge and more competent skills in dealing with the tensions of human relationships.”

We all know by instinct and experience that communication is crucial in key relationships. No relationship, business or otherwise, will long survive bad communication for long. We cannot ignore the need for good coaching and communication if we are going to compete in today’s marketplace.

Remember, coaching and communication is more than what we say – it is what we are. An old axiom reads, “What you are shouts so loudly in my ears that I can’t hear what you’re saying.” Principled Centered Leadership asserts, “Ultimately, the leadership style one adopts springs from one’s core ideas and feelings about the nature of men – whatever a person has at the center of his life.” The best seller, In Search of Excellence, indicates that the best-managed companies are still “value-driven” or “value-governed.” Their leadership is committed to certain values and principles which they translate into organizational policies and programs.

As coaches, we should ask ourselves some important questions:

  • What do we really think of our people?
  • What value do we place in them?
  • Do we regard them with real care and concern?
  • Are they objects we use only for profit?
  • Do we consider their needs? Their feelings? Their individuality?
  • Are we open with our people about problems and expectations?
  • Do we believe ourselves their servant or their overseers?

Questions like these reveal our character. Coaching and character cannot be separated.

Character was the distinguishing mark of America’s Founding Fathers. It governed their lives and shaped our history. In The March of Folly, Barbara Tuchman writes, “How fortunate America was to have as one of its Founding Fathers, George Washington who had such a character of rock and a kind of nobility that he exerted a natural dominion over others, together with the inner strength and perseverance that enabled him to prevail over a flood of obstacles. He made possible both the physical victory of American independence and the survival of the…republic….”.

William H. Wilbur’s, The Making of George Washington, describes Washington’s character when America’s fate hung in the balance. Wilbur records the condition at Valley Forge in the winter of 1777. The winter was cruel and stalked the Continental Army like death. Terrible cold, bitter winds, exposure, and lack of food and provisions literally drove the corps to the brink of starvation. Countless letters and journal entries attest to overwhelming sufferings. Barefoot, hungry, nearly naked, the soldiers were sick, discouraged and forsaken. Had they buckled and left their post, America was doomed. They could have returned to their homes, but loyal to General Washington, and heedless of their sufferings, the men stayed on. Historians call it a “miracle” of leadership.

How did Washington do it? What was his secret? What can we learn from this historic leader? Again, we look to Washington’s character.

Washington was quiet, modest, firm, fair and wise, but his consideration for others was extraordinary. Washington’s men knew that he was deeply committed to them. He was tireless in his effort to procure food, pay, clothing and medicines. He took interest in their personal problems. He walked among their huts; he talked with the soldiers; he walked through the camp at night – their condition often moving him to tears. According to Wilbur, General Washington’s relationship with his men was a “glorious mixture of respect, loyalty, admiration, faith and affection.”

Washington was willing to carry the load of others. Hundreds of times Washington got off his horse to help soldiers push a wagon out of a mud hole with the cheerful remark, “One more shoulder does it.” His contact was daily, sincere and caring. “All these things…made an Army [Team]. And they made an Army [Team] that was totally and entirely loyal to one man – General Washington”. Some historians hold that Washington was the Revolution. And “when he asked his men to endure suffering, they found it impossible to deny him”.

Why Coaching? Coaching is good communication. Coaching is good leadership. And, moreover, coaching is a call to character and commitment to people – the example demonstrated by George Washington. History proves that people can respond – sometimes heroically. Coaching isn’t a “quick fix” tool to control people. Washington didn’t “fast-talk” his way to victory with the Continental Army. He was committed to them and he gave them his best. He stood as an example of character that others were compelled to follow. When that kind of character is present in our coaching everything else tends to fall into place.

The Need To Be Versatile

Anyone wishing to remain competitive, and relevant at work/in life must become what I like to call a Practical Learner. That is someone who continually seeks/adopts new (and appropriate) knowledge, attitudes and skills, so as to become more useful/valuable to herself and others.

Let’s consider an analogy based on a popular sport – Soccer. Some players learn to use both feet equally well so they can play on either side of the pitch. Some learn how to play defensive, attacking (even goal keeping!) roles. They are often called Utility players.

Coaches love to have them in their teams because when tricky match situations occur, such individuals give the coach more options to consider in terms of substitutions to be made. For those individuals, you will notice that except when injured, they not only command a place in any team, but also often get into the starting line up! The reason: they fit in easily i.e. there is always a role they can play.

Now relate this to the workplace. Imagine a company having an individual with proven versatility in managing various processes, coupled with an ability to quickly settle into – and function efficiently in – virtually any role, even when it is in a higher capacity.

Add to all these a genuine interest in developing others around her to be equally as competent, if not better than she is. You get what could be called the Ideal Employee! Her boss is likely to consider her a most valuable asset, and will often readily recommend her for secondments, and promotions (she would have trained others to do her job, making it easy to be replaced)!

But how does one become like the kind of person described above? Is it in fact possible for one person to be like that? To both questions, the answer is yes. I am convinced that diligent application of Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development (SCfSD) techniques is all that is required. My conviction derives from over 7 years of successfully employing those same techniques.

Why Employee Training (Sometimes) Does NOT Work

You might wonder why I didn’t mention Employee Training as a requirement for producing the Ideal Employee. It’s because evidence abounds that sending people on routine training courses does not guarantee their workplace performances will improve.

Why? Among other reasons, it is because the decision to attend a course is often made for them and not by them. So they might not feel that course will equip them with the specific skills set they believe will help them improve. Consequently, they’ll pay little attention during the course. Ultimately, the money invested is wasted!

To avoid this, decision makers in progressive minded companies now involve employees in deciding courses to attend. However, I believe even better results can be achieved by creating an enabling environment for people to want to develop themselves.

When people take responsibility for their own development, it means they are already motivated to deliver better results. You therefore have less worrying to do about getting them to do their jobs – to the required standard!

This not only costs less in the medium/long term, but also yields more sustainable results in terms of improvements in employee competencies.

Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) : A Complementary Alternative

If you could learn how to help others around you grow and develop in such a way that you not only get their undiluted goodwill, but also consolidate YOUR own development, in a way that equips you to achieve accelerated career advancement, how fulfilled would you be? “Very”, is likely to be the answer of most career persons.

Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) has two aspects:

A). Spontaneous Coaching

Spontaneous Coaching is a unique approach to coaching that is informal, often subtle and based on the coach’s sincere desire to help others grow and develop to their full potential (regardless of who they are or what they do), in a way that benefits the organisation – and him/herself.

One major aspect of Spontaneous Coaching, that makes it different from traditional coaching is the use of what I call Multi-Dimensional Peer Pressure(MDPP) to effect positive changes in work-related behaviour in a person(s) being coached over time.

Another unique feature, is that a Spontaneous Coach will often be found willing to help a “coachee” resolve non-work related problems, as a means to stimulating improved work-related behaviour/performance subsequently in the “coachee”.

A summary of key features of Spontaneous Coaching is as follows:

i. Requires “coach” to have an innate desire to help others regardless of who they are/what they do.

ii. Typified by coach’s willingness to “help” even if “coachee” is not aware, or does not express gratitude.

iii. Depends mostly on “influencing” by example from the coach or other adherents (re: MDPP).

iv. To successfully practice Spontaneous Coaching, you must LOVE (or develop LOVE for) empowering people to be their best – without feeling threatened by their progress, EVEN when it means they could advance AHEAD of you!!

v. Most importantly, a Spontaneous Coach will engage constantly, as a matter of habit, in self-education relevant to achievement of his/her valued goal(s). S/he will actively seek to use his/her(and other people’s) failures and successes as learning platforms on which to develop him/herself – and also use achieved learning to coach others. It is this quality that will ensure s/he remains capable of functioning successfully as a Coach to others.

B). Self-Development

.. the process by which an individual continually – and intelligently – uses her own efforts, resources, knowledge and experiences (as well as those of others, voluntarily supplied), to improve her ability to achieve repeated personal or workplace successes” – Tayo Solagbade

Peter Drucker, as far back as 1955, wrote in his book “The Practice of Management“, that development cannot be anything other than Self-Development. Among other things, he explained that for any organisation to take on the responsibility of developing her people would effectively be a waste of time because, that responsibility is the individual employee’s – and no development would happen if the individual does not take up the responsibility to make it happen.

Read my article titled “How to make yourself UNRETRENCHABLE!” to learn more about other recognised and qualified authorities in the field of Human Resources/People Development who have acknowledged that Self-Development is the most reliable way to achieve significant and lasting employee development.

The concept of Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) was developed by combining certain tested and proven Spontaneous Coaching and Self-Development techniques, based on their successful application in real-life workplaces.

SCfSD Will Benefit Forward Looking Organisations

It is my strong conviction that organisations of the future will be those in which the need for formal, deliberate training, and education through direct interventions by the organisation, for employees will drop significantly. Instead, concepts like Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) which make it easy for employees to take control of their own development, in a way that ultimately benefits the organisation they work for, will be preferred.

Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) can be independently applied by individual career persons to achieve dramatically improved workplace performances.

More importantly, decision makers in an organisation can learn how to use it to establish an alternative, cost-saving/self-sustaining system that perpetually empowers their team members to perform optimally in the workplace.

You can email a four page Acrobat PDF e-flyer on Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(SCfSD) to yourself using the File Mailer web form on the Free Resouces page of my website.

When we speak of strong will, we imagine a well-built man that saves the world form corruption, calamity and gives hope for a better future. At the same time we realize that this is an imaginary character to lift your mood up in the evening when you watch a movie. In real life we are not supermen and certainly do not behave ourselves like ones. We ignore common sense and follow the tiniest of our desires that may put to danger a lot of valuable things. We are not winners or conquerors; we are losers that prefer to sit quietly and from time to time to have a burst of action for which we will be responsible for the rest of our days. It is better to parasite on other ignoring the fact that your life is your responsibility. People feel safe when their faults are covered by others that have sympathy for you. The only action guided by your common sense is devolution of the burden you are supposed to carry on someone else’s shoulders.

A daily routine for an average person is like the hundred thousands of others. Getting up at the break of dawn, rushing into the tube, working hard all day and having a sleepless night is a typical way to spend time for an average megapolice citizen. Even being a college student you have worked on your papers instead of having a party with your friends. For an individual his life is a struggle between “I have to” and “I want to”. Freedom of choices is only an illusion if you have no will to deal with circumstances of the wrong choice. A complex act like changing a profession, moving to another apartment can also be dictated by a call of a heart but without common sense your action will be chaotic and incoherent. To choose correctly you have to stand an inner fight and this requires more courage and stamina than any rough sport we watch on TV. To analyze yourself you need to gather all your will and courage. Only knowledge of a value of responsibility and strict adherence to the aim will bring success. People, who are determined to reach the desired, will never stop acting even facing the most challenging difficulties.

The coin of will has two sides. From one side there is freedom and independence but form the other there is constant strain and testing of character. Strong will is a quality people should admire and bring up within their children and themselves. We have to stop associating will and desire and think more globally when making a decision. As one Greek historian said “without people that make history there would be no history at all”.
