G4 Communications looks all set to move its headquarters from Manchester to the recently remodelled Derry Wayside Furniture Store. The president of the company, Gent Cav, held sessions with the planning board in Londonderry to chart out the procedures involved in the move, although the listings still show that the property is available for sale in the market. The new home of G4, which has been a furniture store, boasts of a huge 16,000 square feet of desk space as against a measly 6,000 square feet of its present office.

G4’s solicitor John Michels, speaking about the location at 3 Rockingham Road, said that Cav was concerned about the lack of parking lots in the premises of the building. According to the town authorities, the business premises must have at least 45 parking lots, but the current layout allows them only 25 at the front and 7, at most, at the back of the property.

Michels also hopes to rope in more businesses into town thus helping his business to diversify, creating needs for more parking. He, however, also suggested that the growth of the business would help in the growth of the town as well.

G4 provides internet and phone services to New Hampshire with similar providers such as FairPoint and Comcast as its competitors. Gent Cav said that his company would need all the spaces around the parking lot for employers who did not work out of the headquarters. He also plans to put up a retail business in some other part of the furniture store.
